About

Between the Octaves is a focused body of work built on strong songwriting, clean structure, and emotional clarity. The catalog spans country, funk, rock, pop, cinematic composition, and K-pop–leaning production, unified by one standard: music that carries weight. It moves. It hits. It lingers.

Richie Imperial is an award-winning vocalist, songwriter, and producer. A classically trained vocalist, he studied piano under NAACP Award-winning composer Byron J. Smith and has sung under the direction of Grammy Award-winning composer and conductor Eric Whitacre and Jaclyn Normandie, founder of the Modern Conducting Academy.

Rooted in Puerto Rican salsa and shaped by the classic rock, funk, and soul Richie grew up on, his work is further informed by early exposure to classical and country music. That range defines his approach to composition, balancing structure with experimentation in a way that feels both deliberate and alive.

As a composer and songwriter, Richie is the writer behind ECLYP5ED's albums Electric Night and Electric Christmas. Among his credits, he co-wrote the melody for “So Sad Sister,” one of the final unreleased songs by Jani Lane, lead vocalist of Warrant. His work spans records that make you want to move and songs that stay with you long after they end, grounded in the full spectrum of the human experience: life, love, loss, and everything in between.

His performance work has taken him across the western United States and internationally, including St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and St. Mark's Basilica in Venice.

In addition to his work as a songwriter and producer, Richie serves as President of an independent label focused on developing emerging talent and building sustainable careers.
